Jamie C. Williamson, PhD is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family, Circuit-Civil, and County-Civil Mediator, a member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, and President of Amity Mediation Workshop, LLC . She serves as a contract mediator for Florida’s First and Fourteenth Circuit Courts for Domestic Relations/Family cases and as a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator, available for non-binding arbitration panels. Jamie also has been approved as a Family Mediation Assistant Trainer and a Circuit-Civil Mediation Subject Matter Expert the Florida Supreme Court’s Dispute Resolution Center.
A Communication Therapist with a doctorate in interpersonal communication and family relationships from the University of Arizona, Dr. Williamson is authorized to use the Gottman Relationship Checkup when working with couples who want to stay married, but also improve their relationship

Now a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Dr. Jamie C. Williamson joined the mediation profession after a 30-year career in higher education. She began her academic career as a faculty member teaching and conducting research on personal and professional relationships. Her primary interest is communication during relationship development and dissolution, as well as the predicaments that create relationship distress such as conflict, deception, jealousy, and difficult communication topics.
Early in her career, Dr. Williamson was a communication professor at the University of Florida and the University of West Florida. Later, she served as a communication professor and dean at Saint Louis University; as vice president for academic affairs at Baker University, Millikin University, and Butler University, and as president of Winthrop University. She also provided thought leadership and directed the Executive Leadership Group at the American Council on Education (ACE), in Washington D.C.
Jamie C. Williamson, PhD earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Illinois State University, and a Doctorate from the University of Arizona. She is widely published in the area of interpersonal communication and higher education leadership. She has been the recipient of awards for professional achievement, community service, teaching excellence, scholarship, and mentoring over the course of her professional career.
